Prefab homes: common questions
- What is a prefab home?
- A prefabricated home is built in a factory or yard rather than entirely on your section, then transported to site and craned into place on prepared foundations.
- Are prefab homes cheaper than building on site?
- Costs depend on the design, your site and how much site work is needed. Factory construction significantly reduces the amount of building work required on your site, and our three pricing options make it clear what is and isn't included.
- Where do you deliver?
- We deliver to sites throughout New Zealand. Delivery depends on vehicle access, crane positioning and ground conditions, which we check as part of a site assessment.
- How long does a prefab home take?
- Timeframes depend on consents, the design and your site works. Because the home is built in our yard while site preparation happens in parallel, on-site disruption is far shorter than a traditional build.
Will a prefab home suit your site?
Tell us where your property is and we'll assess whether your chosen home is suitable, along with the likely delivery and site-work requirements. Takes about two minutes.
